Nico grew up near Paris, France, where he developed a passion for physical activity and
movement early in life. As a kid, he was the fastest runner at recess, rode bikes and ran with his brother, and was always ready for the next adventure. This enthusiasm for movement led him to study Kinesiology with the goal of becoming a PE teacher. But his hunger for science and knowledge kept him studying all the way to a Ph.D. in Exercise Sciences and Kinesiology. To finance his studies, Nico taught sports to kids and worked as an at-home personal trainer.
In 2009, tired of the busy and stressful life in Paris, he decided to move to Alaska to live a new adventure. While waiting for his work permit, he immersed himself in all things fitness and obtained a personal trainer certification from the National Academy of Sport Medicine. After a few years working as a personal trainer in Anchorage, Nico opened LongevityLab to better serve the Anchorage community.
Over the last 10 years, Nico has trained more than 20,000 hours of one-on-one sessions with hundreds of clients, progressively building a training system that allows him to push an Olympian or an 80-year-old client alike. His work is specific to his clients’ needs and keeps them successful and always challenged. Thanks to his wide library of random knowledge—built from university studies and athletic competitions—he simplifies the fundamentals of healthy living (working out, nutrition, etc.) and makes them easier to understand.
Outside of the gym, Nico loves to ride his bike, whether on the trails, on the snow, or during cyclocross races. You will rarely find him in town on a weekend because he loves to spend them hiking and enjoying the mountains of Alaska.
